Since October is 'Right to Life' Month, I thought this would be a good time to share what the boys and I do the 3rd Thursday of every month... Back in July my church asked me to write a letter about the committee I recently joined. The following statement was published in the August 10th bulletin, which also explains where we are on those Thursdays...
Even though my husband and I are new to the Holy Spirit Catholic Community, we were quickly exposed to several committees. At that time, we were the grateful recipients of others’ service work rather than givers. Last winter and spring, we received prayer blankets, meals, and a plethora of services to help prepare for and welcome our newborn triplets. To say the least, Holy Spirit Catholic Community welcomed us with opened arms!
Now that our little guys are a bit older, we thought it about time to give a little back, so we became involved in Holy Spirit’s “Right to Life” group. Last Thursday we joined others from Holy Spirit for a prayer vigil at the new Planned Parenthood facility in Aurora. We stood across the street watching and praying for the women and their babies who were in the facility. Doing this service with my newborn babies was especially challenging, as just a few short months ago my little guys were inside me, growing and developing into the unique personalities that I know today. It breaks my heart to think of all the babies whose lives are taken every day. I am convinced God listens to our prayers and I continue to pray that one day abortion will end. Until that happens, I will continue to stand and pray across the street from Planned Parenthood the 3rd Thursday of each month, with the Holy Spirit Catholic Community and my own true miracles of life.
