On our regular Thursday 'date' night, Craig and I went out to dinner to celebrate his upcoming birthday. While talking we both came to the realization that we were not looking forward to anything, in a good way. Ya know the typical phrase "I can't wait until...". Well that Thursday evening we decided that we could not finish that sentence, since we were in the midst of exactly what we have always wanted, plus one :-).
Unfortunately, that feeling only lasted a very short time. By the next morning we could tell that our guys were not feeling well, and by Saturday they were outright miserable. Since their personalities changed so drastically in such a short period of time, we decided to have their ears checked. Sure enough, 5 out of the 6 were infected.

I know that this is silly, but here is a picture of their collaborative healthy ear. Way to go Aidan!
Since they've had 3 colds in less than two months and are now dealing with this painful ear infection, I'm thinking that it is a timely reminder that we had premature babies only 7 months ago, and their immune systems are not yet completely developed. Back when the boys were so tiny, we would wash our hands constantly, and the first place we would direct our visitors would be the hand sanitizer. We need to get back to that place, so we can protect our preemies through this cold/ sickness season. Liam- Even though he was our biggest, tipping the scales at a whopping 6lbs, he is still a preemie with an underdeveloped immune system.
Aidan weighed 4lbs, 3 ozs when he was born and had minor breathing problems the first 24 hours of life.
Connor weighed 3lbs 11ozs at birth, and like most babies lost weight before starting to gain. He's still our little peanut (or c-nut as his daddy likes to call him) but is gaining every month.
All of that to say... "I can't wait until... my guys feel better. I miss my Liam, Aidan, and Connor!"
