While approaching my 40th birthday I realized that I wasn't sad or depressed. Rather I felt totally and completely grateful for all God has given me in my almost 40 years. Afterall I am a mother to three miracle boys, and I have a supportive hubby, loving family, and amazing friends. All of that on top of a career that I was proud to have had, an education that I worked hard to accomplish, overall health that I am determined to maintain, and financial freedom that allows me the priceless opportunity to stay at home with my boys. Since I am so incredibly grateful for the blessed life that I have, I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Craig and I rented a boat to go up and down the Chicago River with some of my nearest and dearest friends...
The whole boat crew...
My hottie husband, aka "Captain Craig".
Katelynn and Dave
Ang and EJ
Kelly and Spencer
Laura, with Ang and EJ
After our fun boat ride, we were off to Navy Pier to listen to some fun music and celebrate more!
Any guesses on where we hung out? Spencer is giving us a pretty good clue... (Landshark Beer Garden)
Katelynn loves her ketchup!
On my actual birthday I was lucky enough to celebrate with my parents, sister and nephews. We had a little party at Centennial Beach, and fun was had by all!!!
All three older boys passed the swimming test so they were able to go on the high dive with me.
My mom has always been my #1 supporter! Here she is cheering for me after my first dive off the high dive, ever! No pictures of me on the high dive, just a video that's not blogworthy :-).
Celebration #3... Hibachi dinner with my family!
And if that wasn't enough celebrating, I received more cards, messages, and packages in the mail than ever before. The kind words that were shared means more than anything.
I am truly blessed and one very happy 40 year old!
