Liam, Aidan and Connor had their one year check-up on Tuesday (I know, I'm a little behind with my blogging!!!). I brought my parents with, since the boys are getting a little more adventurous and not wanting to stay-put for an extended period of time. Overall, each of the boys had a really good report. There are a couple little issues that we need to get checked out, though.
All three have ear infections AGAIN!!! They just stopped taking their last dose of antibiotics last week, which was their 5th round this winter. Because our poor guys seem to get infections every time their nose runs, we are going to visit an ENT in a couple weeks. I was hoping to make it to next fall before anything is done, but I am now thinking that tubes are inevitable, and probably more of a 'sooner than later' thing. We'll know more after our ENT visit on March 26th.
The other 'issue' that the boys all have is speech. None of my guys are really talking yet. Let me rephrase, they definitely have their own language going on, but we haven't heard a "Mama" or Dada", or any other words that even closely resemble the English language. It's still pretty early, but multiples have a tendency to be speech delayed anyways, and then the constant fluid in their ears can't help. I plan to call our county soon so each of our boys can be evaluated.
And now for the 1 year stats...
Liam
23 pounds, 3 ounces (50%)
31 1/2 inches tall (90%)
Happy Liam

Aidan
Happy Liam
Aidan
21 pounds, 14 ounces (25%)
31 inches tall (85%)
Proud Aidan (he claps every time he falls down after attempting to walk)
Connor
20 pounds, 5 ounces (10%)
29 3/4 inches tall (50%)
Silly Connor
Side Note~ I asked the doctor about their high height percentile, since neither Craig or I are tall. She told me that our boys just might be fast growers, and reach their adult height by 8th grade. I found that interesting, since that is exactly what happened to Craig.
Liam, Aidan and Connor are happy that their doctor's visit is over... little do they know that they will have to go back next week for their 1 year shots (we took a pass since they all have colds and their little bodies are already busy fighting it off).

P.S. Thank you Aunt Kelly for the "I'm 1" shirts. The boys definitely look proud to wear them and happy to be the big "ONE".

I guess ear infections and delayed speech run in the family. ;) I'm sure that once you get the tubes, they'll be talking away. If they always have fluid in their ears, they're not hearing things right. I'm actually surprised that no words at 12 months is considered "delayed". They're doing great!
Love the updates - I really miss you guys!!! Looks like things are going great. So proud of your family and all the accomplishments for the first year. Elaine
The boys look great! I love seeing their smiles!! They all have the biggest smiles in the world!! (when you put all three together at the same time) LOL!!
After 3 kids with numerous ear infections, and 2 who now have tubes, I have to say that the tubes were a lifesaver. I cannot imagine 3 at the same time with EIs...one was enough. Colin actually had his placed on Friday and instantly is hearing better (I believe). And it took them an entire 15 minutes from start to finish. A little sleepy that day, and now back to normal. I hope it works out the same for you guys! Good luck!
