Another New Era... St. Patrick's Day Parades

St. Patrick's Day has always been one of my most favorite holidays. Growing up I used to have a blast going to the South Side Irish Parade, and spending time with my family. Then when I got older the holiday turned more into a party-time holiday, which was a ton of fun and something I looked forward to every year (especially when we were asked to partake in the parade).

Now that we are out in the suburbs and with kids, I wondered if St. Patrick's Day would ever be as much fun as it used to be. Good news for me, the answer is yes!!! I am so lucky to have such a fun family, they let me get a bit crazy and go all out.

The morning started with Craig running the 5K race (and finishing with his lowest time ever!) and the boys and I waking up to a mess a leprechaun made in our kitchen. The little guy scattered gold coins everywhere and brought us a special St. Patrick's Day treat. After we had a few good laughs we had breakfast and then it was time to 'decorate' ourselves.

Connor's excitement motivated the other two to jump on board.

The final result...
Connor opted for green hair and stickers, just like his mommy.  Somehow there were no pictures taken of me today, but I looked like a bigger (but not quite so green) version of Connor.
Aidan was our lucky leprechaun.
Liam decided he wanted body paint so he could be our slogan boy. He had some typical Irish sayings/ drawings all over him, but he was also our #1 supporter of Daddy who competed in the 5K race!
Once we all looked like it was St. Patrick's Day, we were off to our neighborhood parade and party in our downtown area. What a beautiful day to spend outside. 80 degrees and sunny in March, absolutely perfect!
Here come the floats...

I thought this was going to be a cute picture of the boys watching the parade, until I realized Connor was a bit bothered by the loud Irish music, oops!

A float just for me (It even played my South Side Irish song :-)).

The candy that was passed out during the parade was a huge hit with ALL of my boys!

Daddy played a little ball

with his boys down by the
riverwalk.

No caption needed for this
adorable picture...

Delicious!
And yes the boy is drinking his
left-over syrup...
Only on St. Patrick's Day!

Just when I thought the boys couldn't get
any messier and stickier, we headed to a
pancake brunch at the high school.

While at the pancake brunch boys were impressed to meet a real live leprechaun. They wanted to know if he was the one who visited our house earlier in the morning. Too funny!!!

And a few bonus pictures of my lucky little leprechauns...

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

St. Michael Parish in Sioux Falls, SD was one of the parishes your father chose to have a Mass said for your intention and that of your triplets more than 4 years ago. Just wanted you to know that we have enjoyed getting the updates from him, including pictures and stories of the three beautiful babies! Thanks for sharing. May God continue to bless you and your family!
