FREEZE!!!

I literally want to freeze time, as I just put my boys to sleep for the last time as 3 year olds.  My babies are gone, and now my toddlers are as well.  I can not express how much I enjoyed being a mother to three amazing 3 year olds.  Everyday was an adventure and I loved every minute of it (okay, maybe not every minute, but definitely most of them :-)).

My boys love to learn, always have inquisitive questions and crack me up constantly!  They have tons of love to share, compassion for others, and unique ways of bringing out smiles in everyone with whom they come into contact.  I couldn't be more proud of the little boys my Liam, Aidan & Connor are becoming, and continue to thank God every day for giving me my 3 little miracles.

Liam is definitely our athletic little one.  He loves to play any and every sport and seems particularly good at all of them.  What impresses me most about Liam when it comes to sports, however, is not how fast he can pick up a new skill, but his patience, compassion and teaching ability.  He loves to show his brothers the proper way to shoot a basketball, kick a soccer ball, or whatever it is that they are playing.  And when his brothers don't pick the particular skill up quickly, Liam couldn't be more encouraging.  He uses his nice words, telling his bothers that it's hard, to watch him, and to practice more.  And completely off topic, Liam's favorite phrase is "Hey, I have a good idea.".  I have to include that because every time he says it, he truly does have a good idea.

I am constantly amazed by Aidan's thoughtfulness and selfishness.  If somebody is hurt, Aidan is the first to try to figure out a way to make him feel better.  And he often does random things, just to make his brothers happy.  If Aidan has something that one of his brothers wants, he often, without prompting, offers it up.  And one if his most favorite phrases is "Sure you can." when one of his brothers asks him a question such as "Can I do this puzzle with you?".  I should also mention that Aidan likes to make other people happy as well (like me :-)), but his empathy towards his peers is what truly impresses me!!!

Connor has such a sweet demeanor.  An example came earlier this week when Connor went outside and picked a big bouquet of dead flowers.  When he came inside and gave it to me he said "Here Mommy.  These flowers are for you.  I gave them to you because I love you sooooo much and want you to be happy always.".  Just about melted my heart!  Speaking of melting my heart, Connor can do that often.  He is our snuggler and our lover, and randomly bursts out the sweetest things.

My 3 three year olds will definitely be missed!!!  The bright side, I now have 3 four year olds who I couldn't be more proud of the little people they are becoming...

Finally, here is an example of a funny conversation I had with the boys and why I LOVE this age. Ya just never know what they are going to say...

Me- "I want you boys to stay 3 forever."

Connor- "But we can't because we have to have our own babies."

Aidan- " You are gonna be the Grandma and can watch the babies when we go on date night."

Liam- "Aunt Kari is going to be our wife, right?"

Can't even make up material that good :-).

Jennifer and Craig, you are going to enjoy every age and stage that your boys go through. Liam, Aidan and Connor are always going to be kind, caring and lovable. The seed has been set, thanks to their kind, caring and lovable parents.

We love you all,
Grandma Diane and Grandpa Mike

Oh my goodness, such a beautiful portrait of each of the boys as they turn 4. Where has the time gone? I know your boys birthday is this month, but I literally caught my breath when I read your first sentence - I just can't believe it!!! So blessed to be traveling on this journey with all of you as our friends - I can't wait to see what 4 has in store!
