Our Boring Weekend, Part 1

Summers have always been crazy busy for me, but this past month+ has just been insane. The last four weekends we had something going on every second of each day.

Let's recap...
Weekend 1- Liam's surgery/ recovery
Weekend 2- Steve's wedding & all the bonus 'wedding' stuff
Weekend #3- An overnight trip to WI
Weekend #4- An overnight trip to MI

Because of that, and because we are going to be gone the next 2 weekends, we decided to make this weekend as boring as possible. So check out the rest of this post and the next one to see if we succeeded...

Sarah invited the boys and I over to see her beautiful new home in Vernon Hills, and to go to her local water park. Since I really wanted to see her new home (and her!), I decided to accept the offer. Everyone had a blast, but 'boring' it was not!

Aidan flew high in the sky... And yes, Liam and Connor got their turns as well. Poor Sarah should have skipped her arm exercises at the gym that morning, as my trio
worked them hard! After spending two nonstop hours in the pool, the boys took a break before lunch, all cozied up in their new towels (Thank you Auntie Kate, Dave & Isabelle!)
Everyone enjoyed their picnic lunch...
PB&J Uncrustables, goldfish, frozen peaches, and lots of animal crackers...
Gourmet, NO! Easy and tasty travel foods, YES!
The sandpit at the water park was like none I have ever seen. The boys had a blast, and were covered with sand from head to toe.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of us in the lazy river, as it would have been a sight to see. There is no graceful way to exit an intertube, especially with a toddler or two sitting on your lap!

Thank you Sarah!!!
We are already looking forward to next year!

Oh how I loathe sand, but it looks like they had fun.
