Since this is award season, I thought I would share a little story about our little 'actor' in the family...
When Liam was struggling with his tonsillectomy recovery, he always reminded us that he was in pain by pointing to him mouth while saying "Yucky" in the saddest voice ever heard. Obviously when he did that around me, or any other adult for that matter, our hearts broke and we just smothered him with love and affection. Well, now that he is back to his 100% self, you would think the pathetic mouth pointing "Yucky" bit would be behind us... Nope!!!
There are two major differences now, however.
Number 1, It's not Liam anymore... it's Connor!
Number 2... When Connor does it, he's a phony bologna!!! It appears that he took notice to all the positive attention Liam received, so now Connor copies his 'act' when he is in 'trouble'. Whenever I correct his inappropriate behavior, Connor gives me the pathetic look Liam once did, uses his sweet voice and says "Yucky", all while pointing to his mouth (usually with an instantaneous tear rolling down his cheek).

Special note... 30 seconds before this picture was taken, Connor was laughing hysterically while dropping Cheerios onto the seat of his highchair.

I was laughing so hard. Kids are so perceptive and smart it is wild.
