Split!

A couple weeks ago I went down state for a quick trip to attend my soon-to-be sister-in-law's bachelorette party.  Since we visited the family less than 2 weeks earlier, and because Craig doesn't do well on the farm during high allergy season, we decided to make the trip optional for each of the boys.  With a little persuading, Aidan decided to stay home with Craig.  I was a little nervous about splitting the boys up since they are around each other pretty much every minute of every day, but this was a perfect opportunity to give it a try.

At the actual moment of separation I was especially uneasy, fearful that there was going to be a meltdown and change of mind on Aidan's part.  But that was not the case, what-so-ever.  As the below pictures show, Aidan couldn't wait to start his weekend with his daddy, attempting to drag Craig to his car to start his weekend.

While down state I struggled with only having 2 of my kiddos with me.  I was constantly looking for #3 and even put together an extra plate for dinner.  Apparently old habits die hard!

While on the farm Liam and Connor helped Grandpa and Uncle Eric during busy harvest season.

And talked to their brother every night.  The only way this could be more precious is to hear the conversations between them.  Priceless! (Thanks for getting this picture to me, MaryJo!)

And I of course had a blast celebrating Heather with my sis-in-laws.  Fun times were had by all!

On our way home Liam and Connor were very excited to be reunited with their brother and daddy.  Upon our arrival Aidan had the sweetest hugs for us and then surprised his brothers with a welcome home present...  a Cars play-dough kit! And if that wasn't sweet enough, Craig had beautiful flowers for me.  Literally a perfect reunion!!!
A very successful and fun weekend for everyone, as the first major split couldn't have gone smoother.  But come Sunday night I was so glad to have my whole family together.  All was right in the world once again!!!
