Nap Time...A Circus or a Zoo???

BOTH!!!

Since we got rid of the sleeping binkies over a week ago, nap time has been anything but quiet and relaxing.  Rather than rest, the three jump, laugh, talk, climb, scream, throw, play, undress (and re-dress in a 2 year old way), be silly... anything and everything but sleep.  When listening to them 'nap', it sounds like a zoo, but as soon as I open the door, I am reminded more of a three ring circus... Ugh!  What used to be my most peaceful time of day has suddenly become my most tense.
So my motto a couple days this week was "If you can't beat them, join them"...

The boys and I went to the zoo on Monday.  We all had a blast!

We did a lot of walking while at the zoo...  We, as in Liam, Connor & myself.  Aidan, for the most part, enjoyed the ride!



I tried to get this picture when we went with Auntie Angie in the spring, but had no luck.  A few months (and the zoo being practically empty) helped make it possible this time around!

On Saturday the whole family was off to the circus.  Since the boys have never sat still for more than a half an hour without being buckled into something, we didn't know what to expect...  

The boys were NOT a fan of the clowns. So much so, they didn't even give out high fives to the friendly clowns who asked for them.  Something they did do with their hands, however, was hold on tightly.  We didn't have to remind them once to hold hands when we were down on the circus floor.

I LOVE the age of two for a thousand reasons, but today I appreciated the fact that the boys were excited about their FREE Circus postcards, not wanting to buy any of their overpriced 'junk'.

The seats were a bit of an issue for Connor and Aidan.  Connor couldn't keep his seat down so he looked like he was being eaten by his seat the entire time.  Luckily it didn't bother him one bit.  Aidan, on the other hand, had a different issue.  Every time he tried to climb in or out of his seat, it would fly up and bump him in his head... ouch!  

 

Even though the boys liked the elephants, lions & tigers, I think their favorite part of the whole experience were all the treats they enjoyed while at the circus...  Pretzels,  fish, mini cookies, m&ms and cotton candy. Gotta love the big diaper bag!!!



Fun was had by all.. We'll definitely be back!!!
