2 Wheelers All Around!!!

If anyone is in the market for training wheels, we have our last pair to give away.  As of today, all three boys can ride their bikes without them.  Liam and Connor learned how to ride their 2 wheeler back in June (Connor on Father's Day and Liam a couple days later), and today it clicked for Aidan.  I am so proud of Aidan for continuing to practice whenever I asked, despite many many falls through the summer.  Way to go buddy!!!

 

So here is a rundown of what we went through today...

First step- Take off the training wheels!

Second step- Take in a few last minute pointers from the 'experienced' riders.

 

 Third Step- Let Go!

Hmmm... I don't know why I didn't post this back when I wrote it on 11-4-08.  Maybe when I was 36 I didn't want to offend any of my followers.  Now that I'm 40, I don't care if people like my political stance.

8 Month Schedule

I wrote this on 11-5-08 but never posted it on my blog.  Since I want to remember what life was like with young ones, I decided to keep the post.

8 Month Schedule

Since time is going by so quickly, and the boys are changing so rapidly, I thought I'd capture a typical day at 8 months.

6:00am- The boys wake up, drink their bottles, and then play with Daddy.

7:00am- Daddy gets ready for work and I take over... I'm 'off' from 6:00am- 7:00am. Believe me, there is a HUGE difference between being 'on' 23 hours a day, compared to 24!!! :-).

7:15am- Breakfast... Oatmeal and Fruit

7:45am- Start the 'Big Boy' baths, while the other two play.

8:30am- Baby Einstein Video

9:00am- First nap

10:30am- Start waking up from naps

10:45am- Bottle

11:00am- Play, Play, Play. This looks much different than even a month ago... They are mobile now!!! All three of them can sit, Liam and Aidan unassisted. All three of them can get from one point to another, by whatever means possible (squirming, doing the army crawl, diving, scooting, etc.). Since the sitting and mobile thing is still pretty new to them, there is a lot of tipping and bumping, but for the most part they are doing really well.

1:00pm- Down for their second nap.

2:30pm- Start waking up from naps.

2:45pm- Bottles

3:15, or whenever the last baby finishes... Leave the house for the first time!!! What are we going to do when the weather turns??? If we don't find something to do, it might be a loooong winter!!!When we get back, we play until it is time for our nigh time routine to start.

6:15- Start nighttime routine... Bottles, strip down to diapers, eat dinner (rice and a variety of vegetables), get dressed in pjs, play until sleepiness starts.

7:30- Off to dreamland

One Rough Week!

I originally wrote this post on 1-16-09, but for some reason I never posted it.  Probably because it was a bit of a downer.  But it was our life, so here ya go...

One Rough Week!

Okay, so I was expecting this week to be rough, but this was ridiculous!!! Before I start my rant, I realize that I am very blessed, but everyone is allowed to have a tough week every once in a while... It was my turn this week!

The reason I expected to have it tough was because the boys and I got really spoiled over the holidays. We had Daddy home for nearly 2 full weeks and were surrounded by tons and tons of helpful and loving family and friends.  Immediately after the holidays we defrosted in Florida with Grandma and Grandpa showing us more fun and love everyday!  

Even though I know that adjusting back to 'normal life' can be a challenge, I didn't expect to go through it with 3 sick and really crabby babies...  We're talking sick and really really crabby! In the beginning of the week, we went to the doctor's office and all three were diagnosed with croup and two with ear infections. Plus all three had boogers galore. And if that wasn't bad enough, they all had reactions to their medications; the croup steroid gave them all diarrhea and the ear infection antibiotic gave the two diaper rashes (diarrhea and diaper rashes, not a good combo). And on top of all that, two of the guys are about ready to pop a couple more teeth, so that just added to the pain and crabbiness.

 

All of that to say, is this week over yet?

Update...  All of Kelly's boys are so thoughtful when writing thank you cards, birthday cards, mother's day cards, etc.  And they are so unique and appreciated by everyone in my house.  Just yesterday Connor was looking for the birthday card airplane that Jack made him almost 6 months ago.  Such thoughtful kids, and great role models!!!

The Boys Already Have "IT"

I originally wrote the below post on 6-1-10 (age 2) but never published it.  When cleaning up my blog I went through my 'draft' posts and came across a few that are worth posting, complete or not.
The Boys Already Have "IT"

I'm their mom, so I have to think that my boys are incredibly special. And so do their grandparents, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and even our friends... It's part of the job.

But these people don't have to, but they do!

"Clarice" from the YMCA. She literally request to work on days that she thinks "her triplets" will be there. And when we do come, and she's assigned to a different post, her colleagues know that they have to trade with her so she can play with her guys.

"Anelese", our neighbor. She comes over all.the.time. to play with the boys. She's only 10, but the way she talks, teaches and plays with them is truly impressive. She's going to make one great babysitter in a few years.

"Rosalie" from the church nursery.  Every single time we drop them off at the nursery she genuinely seems excited to see the boys, and after mass she ALWAYS tells us that the boys were perfectly behaved and such a joy to spend time with.  (UPDATE~ Rosalie is now in heaven watching over the boys whenever she now so chooses :-))
